On the vessel, there are 15 hinge cover plates that frequently suffer damage during freight handling. Due to the high-grade steel used in their construction, these plates cannot be repaired and must be replaced. For this particular task, detailed drawings were sent to a local supplier who specialises in high-grade steel (DH36). They use laser cutting technology to precisely cut the steel plates and then roll them into the required shape.

Once the plates are ready, they are collected and brought to our fully equipped workshop. Here, we supply, cut, and fit solid round bars to one end of each plate, followed by a thorough welding process. After this, our team carefully cuts and grinds a bevelled chamfer on the opposite end of the plates. Finally, once all steps are completed, the finished products are delivered to the customer.
